George Strait’s longtime drummer killed in car wreck: A Strait spokeswoman confirmed that 59-year-old Michael A. Kennedy of Baxter, Tennessee, died Friday. The Tennessee Highway Patrol says Kennedy was driving on Interstate 40 in Wilson County outside of Nashville on Friday afternoon when he merged into another lane. Kennedy’s vehicle collided with a tractor trailer, which then hit a pickup truck. No one else was injured.
The Royals Name Their New Dog: Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry have started settling into their new life. They went to see the hit musical, “Hamilton”, Meghan is slipping into a British accent, and they recently welcomed a new dog into their home. According to People, Harry and Meghan settled on a name for the pup, which is reportedly a Labrador Retriever. They named the dog “Oz”.
Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas dropped their son Dylan off at college on this weekend. The actress posted a sweet send-off to her 18-year-old son on Instagram Sunday (September 2nd). The video showed clips of Dylan and the campus of Brown University, where he will be attending school, set to the Electric Light Orchestra’s “Mr. Blue Sky.” Zeta-Jones wrote alongside the video, “I love you Dylan. Good luck in the next exciting and enlightening chapter in your life.’
‘DIE HARD’ 6 TO BE TITLED ‘MCCLANE’: The sixth installment of the Die Hard franchise has a working title. Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura told the UK movie magazine Empire that the movie is called McClane. According to the empire report, the script features Bruce Willis as a 60-year-old McClane with a younger version of McClane in his 20s.
KAEPERNICK HAS A NEW DEAL WITH NIKE: Colin Kaepernick still doesn’t have a job in the NFL, but he does have a new deal with Nike, with his attorney, Mark Geragos, tweeting the announcement yesterday (September 3rd), calling the quarterback an “All American Icon.” Kaepernick posted a Nike ad of his face and wrote: “Believe in something, even if it means sacrificing everything. #JustDoIt.” Kaepernick already had a deal with Nike that was set to expire, but it was renegotiated into a multi-year deal to make him one of the faces of Nike’s 30th anniversary “Just Do It” campaign.
