MARIAH CAREY WINS $2M DEFAMATION BATTLE: Mariah Carey came out on top against a concert promoter who claimed she cost them millions in damages for bailing on a scheduled show in South America, The Blast reports. The suit stems from legal action she took against FEG Entretenimientos S.A. when she claimed she didn’t get paid on time for scheduled appearances, prompting her to cancel. The promoters accused her of defamation when she tweeted: “Devastated my shows in Chile, Argentina & Brazil had to be canceled. My fans deserve better than some of these promoters treated them.” While she is clear of the promoter’s $2 million claim, her company may still have to pony up $1 million for the cancelation.
